Wartburg Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle, the fairytale castle of Bavaria's King Ludwig II, combine cultural history in a very special way. The Singers' Hall of Neuschwanstein Castle was one of the king's favourite projects and, next to the Throne Hall, the most important room in the castle. In it, the builder combined the Festival Hall and the Singers' Hall of the Wartburg, which he had visited personally, inspired by Richard Wagner, to create a new room.
Otto Sauter, as Artistic Director of the Wartburg Festival and Artistic Advisor of the Castle Concerts Neuschwanstein, combined the two festivals with four concerts in unique event concerts, true to his motto: "Exceptional music needs exceptional places".
"It has always been a special concern of mine to connect: People, with music - musician friends from all over the world - people with fascinating historical places, such as the Vatican, the royal castles in England, the pyramids in Mexico, places that are more than just modern concert halls. For the first time there will be a musical gathering between Neuschwanstein Castle and Wartburg Castle, which are among the most famous buildings of German architecture and whose concerts are a very special attraction for visitors far beyond the borders of Germany," said Otto Sauter.
